How to reach Kashmir from Jaipur

By air

Check whether a nonstop or one-stop flight to Srinagar suits your dates; many travellers connect via Delhi. Compare the total journey time and choose a morning arrival if possible.

By train

Trains run from Jaipur toward Jammu Tawi and Katra, which makes rail a real option for travellers who do not mind a longer trip. From Jammu or Katra, continue to Srinagar by the Vande Bharat train or by road. Check IRCTC.

By road

Road travel is a long haul; flying or rail plus Vande Bharat is more practical. See our Kashmir cab booking page.

Send us your flight or train details and we plan the Srinagar pick-up around them. A Vande Bharat train connects Katra and Srinagar and was extended to Jammu Tawi in 2026; timetables change, so check IRCTC.

Travelling from Rajasthan

Rajasthan's hot, dry summers make the cool valley especially welcome, and winter weekends are popular for snow. Jaipur and Udaipur have the best flight links, and Jaipur is also connected by rail toward Jammu.

A suggested route for Jaipur travellers

If you fly, you can be in Srinagar by lunch and still enjoy Dal Lake on day one. If you take the train to Jammu or Katra, treat the onward journey as a travel day and begin sightseeing the next morning. Four to five nights cover Srinagar, Gulmarg and Pahalgam; add one more if you go by rail.

When Jaipur travellers usually go

Jaipur travellers often go in the cooler winter months for snow or in summer to escape the heat. Long weekends and school holidays are busy.

For month-by-month conditions, see our honeymoon packages guide and the article on how much a Kashmir trip costs.

Tips for travellers from Jaipur

  • If you go by rail, add a day at each end.
  • Book a morning flight if possible.
  • Pack light woollens in summer and heavy ones in winter.

Every package page lists its inclusions and exclusions. Read our cancellation and refund policy and the Kashmir travel FAQs, and check current travel advisories before you book.

The cost of a Kashmir tour package generally starts from ₹6,000 per person and can go up to ₹40,000 or more per person, depending on the travel requirements.

The final price depends on the number of days, number of travellers, travel season, hotel category, transportation, meal plan, and destinations included in your itinerary. Standard, Deluxe, Super Deluxe, and Premium packages are available to suit different budgets (see our budget tours and all Kashmir holiday packages).

For example, travellers looking for a budget-friendly holiday may choose standard accommodation, while honeymoon couples may prefer premium hotels or a luxury houseboat on Nigeen Lake.

At Acme Tour & Travels, we recommend comparing the complete package inclusions rather than choosing an option based on price alone. Our guide on how much a Kashmir trip will cost explains the cost breakdown in detail.

How many days are enough for a Kashmir trip?

We generally recommend 5 nights and 6 days for a relaxed first Kashmir trip. This gives you more time to explore the major destinations without rushing between places.

Suggested durations include:

  • 3 nights / 4 days: Srinagar, Dal Lake, Mughal Gardens, and a Gulmarg excursion.
  • 4 nights / 5 days: Srinagar, Gulmarg, and Pahalgam.
  • 5 nights / 6 days: Srinagar, Gulmarg, and Pahalgam with a more relaxed pace and overnight stays in different destinations.
  • 6 nights / 7 days or longer: More time for Sonamarg, Doodhpathri, Yusmarg, or other destinations, subject to season and accessibility.

For travellers interested in offbeat places, photography, or a slower holiday, we recommend allowing a week or longer.

What is included in an Acme Tour & Travels Kashmir package?

Our standard package inclusions generally cover:

  • Hotel or houseboat accommodation.
  • Breakfast and dinner, according to the selected meal plan.
  • Private cab for the agreed itinerary.
  • Vehicle fuel.
  • Applicable toll taxes.
  • Driver night charges.
  • Parking charges.

Some packages may also include a Shikara ride or other specified activities. Inclusions vary by quotation, so we provide the details before confirmation.

Gondola tickets, pony rides, local union taxis, entrance tickets, optional activities, shopping, and sightseeing outside the agreed itinerary may cost extra unless specifically included in writing.

We can also arrange accommodation-only, transport-only (see Kashmir car rental with driver), or customised packages according to your requirements.

Which is the best month to visit Kashmir?

Kashmir is beautiful throughout the year, but the best month depends on the experience you want.

  • March–April: Spring flowers, fresh greenery, and the tulip season, depending on bloom dates (see the Tulip Garden).
  • May–August: Green valleys, mountain scenery, gardens, and outdoor sightseeing (see our summer in Kashmir guide).
  • October–early November: Golden and reddish autumn colours, especially around Srinagar's chinar trees.
  • December–February: Winter scenery and opportunities to experience snow, depending on weather conditions, especially at Gulmarg.

Each season offers a different side of Kashmir. Our recommendation is to select your travel dates according to your preferred experiences, budget, and comfort.

What are the extra expenses in a Kashmir tour package?

Extra expenses depend on the selected package and itinerary. Common examples include:

  • Gulmarg Gondola tickets.
  • Pony rides.
  • Local union taxis for particular sightseeing areas.
  • Entrance tickets.
  • Optional activities and adventure experiences.
  • Additional sightseeing outside the agreed route.
  • Personal shopping and expenses.
  • Meals or services not included in the selected plan.

We recommend asking for a written quotation that clearly separates included services from optional expenses.

It is also sensible to keep approximately 10–15% of your planned trip budget aside for unforeseen expenses. This is a budgeting suggestion, not a mandatory fee.
