Brief Introduction About Nubra Valley The Nubra Valley in Ladakh is well known for its chilly desert and gorgeous surroundings. It is a tri-armed valley that is divided by the Nubra (Siachan) River and Shyok River. Khardung La, one of the highest motorable crossings in the world, connects the valley to Leh. The Diskit Monastery and Hunder Village in Nubra Valley, one of Ladakh's major tourist destinations, are a must-see.
Hunder Village in Nubra Valley is renowned for its chilly desert and the possibility of camping and Bactrian Camel riding (double-humped camel). The oldest and largest monastery in the area is the Diskit Monastery, which is located in the main settlement of Nubra Valley. The 32-meter-tall statue of Maitreya Buddha, which is difficult to overlook owing to its grandeur, is the major draw at this location.
Since 2010, travellers have been able to visit Turtuk, a quirky village. Here, visitors have the opportunity to engage in tribal tourism, get to know the inhabitants, and learn about their way of life and culture. Additionally, camping that is environmentally friendly is an option in Turtuk.

How To Reach Nubra
BY AIR
Leh is the nearest airport. From Leh, one can hire a taxi or board a bus to reach Nubra Valley. Srinagar is also a good option to reach Diskit. Flights connect Srinagar with Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Jammu, Leh and Dubai.
BY TRAIN
Jammu is the nearest railway station. One can either hire a taxi or board a bus to reach Leh and then Diskit in Nubra valley.
BY ROAD
Nubra can be reached by by bus or jeep from Leh, about 150 km away. One has to cross Khardung La or K-Top and require inner line permit to enter. From Khalsar, one can go to Diskit and Hunder or to Sumur till Panamik.

Hotels and Guest Houses in Diskit
Diskit has the most hotels in the Nubra Valley and is likely the only location where you have a chance of finding a posh hotel. It is the district capital, and some of the essential services, such restaurants, phone booths, and taxi services, are more effective here. There is also a gas station in Diskit, but so far I have never seen it open.
Hotels and Guest Houses in Hunder
Due to its proximity to sand dunes and Bactrian (two humps) camels, Hunder is arguably the second most popular site to stay in Nubra Valley. Similar to Diskit, Hunder has a variety of hotels and guest homes, so it won't be difficult to locate one that suits your preferences and budget.
Hotels and Guest Houses in Sumur
Sumur is on the opposite side of the valley, on the road that leads to Warshi and then continues on to Siachen Glacier, whereas Diskit and Hunder are on the road that leads to Turtuk. There are many hotels and guest homes in this area, which is another fantastic spot to stay.
Hotels and Guest Houses in Panamik
There are a few guest homes in Panamik, of which I'll highlight two because it's well known for its hot water spring. However, the majority of the lodging options available here are for paying guests. You stay in someone's home and eat at their table while you're there. Quite enjoyable, if you ask me.
Due to the bright skies and comfortable weather in Nubra, April to June and September to October are the finest months to explore Nubra Valley. In Nubra, the summer season lasts from April to June and is marked by a strong sun. The rest of the year, from September to June, is milder but still great for sightseeing. The Khardung La pass stays closed from October to March, making Nubra Valley inaccessible.
