History

Although there is no historical proof of how the area gained its name, it is thought that Yusmarg was formerly known as Roosmarg, the meadow of deer. Charar-i-Sharif

A visitor to Yusmarg must pay a visit to Charar-i-Sharif, one of India's most famous shrines. This 600-year-old Muslim shrine is situated roughly 40 kilometres away from Srinagar. Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Noorani is honoured by this shrine, which was built for him. He was a Sufi saint whose sermons and captivating tales were well-known. Tosa Maidan
