Brief Introduction of Aharbal waterfall in kashmir At Aharbal, the turbulent waters of the Vishav River create a cascade as they flow through the pine-covered slopes of the Pir Panjal range. This well-known waterfall is situated 75 kilometres from Srinagar in the south-western portion of the valley in the Kulgam district, at an elevation of 2266 metres above sea level. Its scream may be heard from a mile due to the enormous amount of water that crashes down on the rocks below. As one approaches a waterfall, the silence all around amplifies its sound to deafening levels. Due to the amount of water that falls, it is also known as the Niagara Falls of Kashmir. The stunning Kounsarnag Lake, which is the source of the water, is located deep among the pine and fir forests (13,500 ft above sea level). The hike to Kousarnag Lake begins from Aharbal and travels through breathtakingly magnificent high valleys and meadows. The trekker is energised by the abundance of animals, natural flowers, and enormous alpine trees along the route. Aharbal, famed for its beautiful beauty, is a popular picnic destination for residents and schoolchildren who go there when the plains experience oppressive heat.

Halfway through the two-day hike to the high-altitude Konsarnag Lake is the picturesque Kungwatan Meadow. The meadow, which is completely encircled by a lush canopy of alpine trees, is a serene and tranquil setting that is mostly populated by cattle herders in the summer. The Vishav River is a great place to go fishing because the Fisheries department regularly introduces trout fish into it. It just requires a fishing licence, which is available from the Fisheries department located in Aharbal.
HOW TO REACH
The Mughal Road, which connects Srinagar with Poonch, has eight kilometres to the left and is easily accessible from Srinagar. By bus or automobile, it takes around two hours to get there through Pulwama and Shopian. It is located 28 kilometres west of Kulgam and 18 km south of Shopian town. Aharbal Development Authority, which is in charge of Aharbal's development, has erected tourism infrastructure, including huts and a café, on the alternative road that goes through Kulgam.
