How to reach Kashmir from Diu

By air

Diu is served by Diu Airport (DIU), which has limited flights, so many travellers connect through Mumbai or Ahmedabad. Check which airport gives you the shortest total journey before booking.

By train

Rail suits travellers with time to spare: take a train toward Jammu Tawi or Katra, then the Vande Bharat to Srinagar or a cab. Timetables change, so verify on IRCTC.

By road

Driving all the way is not practical for a holiday. Fly or take the train, then use a private cab inside Kashmir. See our Kashmir cab booking page.

Send us your flight or train details and we plan the Srinagar pick-up around them. A Vande Bharat train connects Katra and Srinagar and was extended to Jammu Tawi in 2026; timetables change, so check IRCTC.

Travelling from Daman and Diu

Both coastal towns are small, so most travellers connect through the larger airports of Gujarat and Maharashtra. The warm, sea-level climate makes the cool mountain air a real change, so carry layers.

A suggested route for Diu travellers

Day one is for arriving and a short walk by Dal Lake. Then run Srinagar, Gulmarg and Pahalgam over three or four days, keeping one flexible day for weather.

When Diu travellers usually go

The Diwali holidays and the summer break are popular times for families to travel, so book early for those weeks.

For month-by-month conditions, see our honeymoon packages guide and the article on how much a Kashmir trip costs.

Tips for travellers from Diu

  • Expect a large temperature drop from Diu's warm, humid climate; carry layers, warm socks and a light waterproof.
  • Compare total journey time, not just fares, when you choose a connection.
  • Diu is a small island town, so most itineraries start by connecting to Mumbai or Ahmedabad.

Every package page lists its inclusions and exclusions. Read our cancellation and refund policy and the Kashmir travel FAQs, and check current travel advisories before you book.

You can request a family holiday, honeymoon package, budget trip, luxury experience, or itinerary that includes offbeat destinations.

We can also adjust the number of nights spent in Srinagar, Gulmarg, and Pahalgam to make the trip more comfortable. Customisation depends on availability, road conditions, and the feasibility of your requested itinerary.

Which is the best month to visit Kashmir?

Kashmir is beautiful throughout the year, but the best month depends on the experience you want.

  • March–April: Spring flowers, fresh greenery, and the tulip season, depending on bloom dates (see the Tulip Garden).
  • May–August: Green valleys, mountain scenery, gardens, and outdoor sightseeing (see our summer in Kashmir guide).
  • October–early November: Golden and reddish autumn colours, especially around Srinagar's chinar trees.
  • December–February: Winter scenery and opportunities to experience snow, depending on weather conditions, especially at Gulmarg.

Each season offers a different side of Kashmir. Our recommendation is to select your travel dates according to your preferred experiences, budget, and comfort.
