The short version for Indore: usually via Delhi or Mumbai; plan five to seven nights.

Five to six nights is a comfortable plan; seven nights is better for families with young children or senior citizens. We are a travel agency based in Srinagar, so our plans follow real road, weather and hotel conditions: Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonmarg, with the quieter Gurez Valley as a seasonal option.

How to reach Kashmir from Indore

By air

Most travellers from Indore connect through Delhi or Mumbai to reach Srinagar. Compare the total journey time and avoid very tight connections.

By train

Trains toward Jammu Tawi and Katra are a long journey from Indore. Flying is more practical for most holidays; rail suits those combining Vaishno Devi with Kashmir.

By road

Driving is not practical. See our Kashmir cab booking page.

Send us your flight or train details and we plan the Srinagar pick-up around them. A Vande Bharat train connects Katra and Srinagar and was extended to Jammu Tawi in 2026; timetables change, so check IRCTC.

Travelling from Madhya Pradesh

Madhya Pradesh sits in the heart of India, so Delhi and Mumbai are the usual connecting hubs. Travellers often compare a flight with a long rail journey, and most choose to fly.

A suggested route for Indore travellers

Choose connections with a generous gap so that arrival in Srinagar is not past midnight. Use day one for rest and a short shikara ride, then spend days two to five on Srinagar, Gulmarg and Pahalgam. A sixth night adds Sonmarg; a seventh suits children and grandparents.

When Indore travellers usually go

Indore families often travel at Diwali, in summer holidays and over long weekends. These weeks are busy, so book early.

For month-by-month conditions, see our honeymoon packages guide and the article on how much a Kashmir trip costs.

Tips for travellers from Indore

  • Choose a connection with a generous layover.
  • Book Diwali and summer trips early.
  • Tell us about food preferences in advance.

The final price depends on the number of days, number of travellers, travel season, hotel category, transportation, meal plan, and destinations included in your itinerary. Standard, Deluxe, Super Deluxe, and Premium packages are available to suit different budgets (see our budget tours and all Kashmir holiday packages).

For example, travellers looking for a budget-friendly holiday may choose standard accommodation, while honeymoon couples may prefer premium hotels or a luxury houseboat on Nigeen Lake.

At Acme Tour & Travels, we recommend comparing the complete package inclusions rather than choosing an option based on price alone. Our guide on how much a Kashmir trip will cost explains the cost breakdown in detail.

How many days are enough for a Kashmir trip?

We generally recommend 5 nights and 6 days for a relaxed first Kashmir trip. This gives you more time to explore the major destinations without rushing between places.

Suggested durations include:

  • 3 nights / 4 days: Srinagar, Dal Lake, Mughal Gardens, and a Gulmarg excursion.
  • 4 nights / 5 days: Srinagar, Gulmarg, and Pahalgam.
  • 5 nights / 6 days: Srinagar, Gulmarg, and Pahalgam with a more relaxed pace and overnight stays in different destinations.
  • 6 nights / 7 days or longer: More time for Sonamarg, Doodhpathri, Yusmarg, or other destinations, subject to season and accessibility.

For travellers interested in offbeat places, photography, or a slower holiday, we recommend allowing a week or longer.

What is included in an Acme Tour & Travels Kashmir package?

Our standard package inclusions generally cover:

  • Hotel or houseboat accommodation.
  • Breakfast and dinner, according to the selected meal plan.
  • Private cab for the agreed itinerary.
  • Vehicle fuel.
  • Applicable toll taxes.
  • Driver night charges.
  • Parking charges.

Some packages may also include a Shikara ride or other specified activities. Inclusions vary by quotation, so we provide the details before confirmation.

Gondola tickets, pony rides, local union taxis, entrance tickets, optional activities, shopping, and sightseeing outside the agreed itinerary may cost extra unless specifically included in writing.

We can also arrange accommodation-only, transport-only (see Kashmir car rental with driver), or customised packages according to your requirements.

What are the extra expenses in a Kashmir tour package?

Extra expenses depend on the selected package and itinerary. Common examples include:

  • Gulmarg Gondola tickets.
  • Pony rides.
  • Local union taxis for particular sightseeing areas.
  • Entrance tickets.
  • Optional activities and adventure experiences.
  • Additional sightseeing outside the agreed route.
  • Personal shopping and expenses.
  • Meals or services not included in the selected plan.

We recommend asking for a written quotation that clearly separates included services from optional expenses.

It is also sensible to keep approximately 10–15% of your planned trip budget aside for unforeseen expenses. This is a budgeting suggestion, not a mandatory fee.

Can I customise my Kashmir tour package?

Yes. At Acme Tour & Travels, we can customise your Kashmir package according to your budget, travel dates, group size, preferred hotels, vehicle requirements, and sightseeing interests.

You can request a family holiday, honeymoon package, budget trip, luxury experience, or itinerary that includes offbeat destinations.

We can also adjust the number of nights spent in Srinagar, Gulmarg, and Pahalgam to make the trip more comfortable. Customisation depends on availability, road conditions, and the feasibility of your requested itinerary.
